CHAPTER 1:
The Optimal Input Checklist

The benefits of input for language development are profound, both for your second language as well as for your first.

But unlike the promise of fast progress that grammar and output-based approaches make (often with disappointing results), we require hundreds and hundreds of hours of input for our brains to put all the complex pieces of the puzzle together.

We’re going to be spending a lot of time with our new language, so it makes sense to set our compass in the right direction now to reach our goal in sound mind and in good time.

The Four Principles of Optimal Input

  3. Rich in language

  4. Abundant

You can read more in the Quick Guide to Optimal Input.
